Aurelien Tchouameni’s Stance on Liverpool as Club Submits Big Bid to Real Madrid
Aurelien Tchouameni has already expressed his thoughts about Liverpool amid reports that the club has made a big offer to sign the Real Madrid midfielder this January.
Liverpool only made two permanent signings during the summer transfer window. One was Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is on loan at Valencia for the season. The other, Italy winger Federico Chiesa, impressed on his debut against West Ham in September but has since struggled with a muscle injury, playing only once since then.
Liverpool has been looking for a new defensive midfielder. However, when Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi chose not to move to Anfield, the Reds shifted their focus. Manager Arne Slot decided to turn Ryan Gravenberch into their main defensive midfielder, and the Dutch player has delivered solid performances.
Now that January has arrived, reports suggest Liverpool has made a £41 million offer to sign Tchouameni and add more competition in that position.
Liverpool’s interest in Tchouameni isn’t new. He was very close to joining the Reds from Monaco in 2022 but ultimately chose Real Madrid instead for a fee of €80 million, which could rise to €100 million with add-ons.
Even though Tchouameni didn’t join Liverpool back then, his previous comments about the club suggest there might be a chance for a different outcome this time.
