Raheem Sterling’s Loan Spell at Arsenal Takes Another Hit with Knee Injury

Raheem Sterling’s struggles this season continue as Arsenal confirms the winger will be sidelined for a while due to a knee injury sustained during training last week. The full extent of the injury is still unclear, and the timeline for his recovery remains uncertain, which often signals bad news.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta shared an update, saying:

“He’s going to be out for weeks, I believe. Further tests are scheduled to determine the severity of the injury. It’s his knee, so we’ll need another 24 hours to get more clarity. Unfortunately, he’ll be out for quite some time.”

This is another setback for the 30-year-old winger, who joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea late in the summer transfer window. Sterling has had limited opportunities to shine, making just 11 appearances across all competitions. He has started only two Premier League games, three Carabao Cup matches, and none in the Champions League, totaling less than 500 minutes of game time. While his playing time at Arsenal has been sparse, it’s still more than he might have received at Chelsea this season.

Despite his limited contributions — one goal and two assists — and this recent injury, Arsenal doesn’t seem to be considering ending his loan deal in January. Arteta has praised Sterling’s leadership qualities, which have been valuable off the pitch. However, questions about his long-term future remain. After this season, Sterling still has two years left on his Chelsea contract, leaving his next steps uncertain.

As fans wait for updates on Sterling’s recovery, his future at both Arsenal and Chelsea remains a topic of discussion.
