Gabriel Could Return for Arsenal’s Clash with Everton

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on Gabriel Magalhaes ahead of their Premier League game against Everton on Saturday.

The Brazilian defender has missed Arsenal’s last three matches after picking up a muscle injury during their 5-2 win over West Ham on November 30. Gabriel was substituted at halftime in that game and has been recovering since.

Earlier this week, Arteta explained that Arsenal’s packed schedule has slowed down the 26-year-old’s recovery. However, during his press conference on Friday, he shared some positive news.

“There is a possibility one of them [Gabriel or Riccardo Calafiori] could be available,” Arteta said. “Gabriel trained today, and we’ll make a final decision tomorrow.”

Careful Management of Injuries

Arteta also spoke about Calafiori’s recovery, emphasizing the importance of following the medical team’s guidance.

“We’re respecting the timeline set by our medical staff,” Arteta said. “He’s not fully ready yet, but he’s getting very close.”

Arsenal’s Recent Form

Arsenal are in strong form, winning five of their last six matches in all competitions. They currently sit third in the Premier League table, six points behind league leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand.

Everton’s Preparations

Everton, on the other hand, have had extra time to prepare for this game. Their Merseyside derby against Liverpool was postponed last weekend due to Storm Darragh. Sean Dyche’s team will arrive at the Emirates boosted by a 4-0 win against Wolves on December 4, ending a run of five games without a victory.

Arsenal will look to keep their momentum going, while Everton aim to build on their recent success in what promises to be an exciting encounter.
